Meet Our Board

President - Nicole Cummings

I am a Colorado native and I have called Pueblo my home since 1998. An outdoor lifestyle and respect for nature is a value that my husband and I have passed on to our own family. The trails at Lake Pueblo and the surrounding area have been a long-standing location for family bike rides and hikes. I refer to myself as a mountain biker, but I have participated in the MS 150 road ride, gravel rides, and I seek out bicycle tours when I travel. I hope we can offer more trails that are family friendly to help encourage our community to get out and enjoy the unique and beautiful areas surrounding Pueblo.

Vice President - Gigot Hudspeth

II'm a fifth generation Southern Colorado native; and I’ve been a fan of trail riding since I bought my first StumpJumper in 1983. The trails in Pueblo and surrounding vicinity are tremendous assets for our community. I'm passionate about exploring and promoting our outdoor resources.

I have been an active member of Southern Colorado Trail Builders for several years. During that time I have participated in trail work days, MTB 101 workshops, Trails Bash events, and helped organize the Trails and Ales fundraiser. Now I am enjoying supporting the organization even more - and learning a lot - as a member of this awesome board!

Membership/Development Chair - Melinda Tortessi

I am a Pueblo native and I’ve been enjoying the fantastic trail systems in Colorado since my marriage in 1984. We’ve especially enjoyed the trails here in Southern Colorado taking our children hiking and biking. I’ve been involved in SCTB for several years and love the friendships I’ve made and I am especially proud of the trail work we do and the satisfaction of knowing I’ve contributed to our goal of keeping Southern Colorado a great place to live and play. I’m looking forward to serving on the board and helping our membership grow.

Treasurer - Robert “Murph” Murphy

I've been riding mountain bikes my entire life, and I can't think of a better way to get outside. I want to assure others are afforded that opportunity, and share the great trails with my young family. I believe access to public lands, the development and maintenance of quality trails and facilities, and a welcoming community of trail enthusiasts are critical for Pueblo's youth to have positive experiences that will develop into lifelong passions. I've worked as a raft guide, ski instructor, and bike mechanic, and served as an officer of the Outdoor Club while attending Colorado State University. I have been working professionally as a soil scientist for more than ten years on numerous land management, project development, and environmental protection issues with various state and federal agencies across most western states. Working toward the development of additional recreation opportunities regionally and practicing stewardship of existing local trails is where I intend to focus my efforts during my tenure as a board member.
